REGISTRATION PERIOD OPENS 10:00 a.m. CDT SEPTEMBER 1, 2020

REGISTRATION PERIOD CLOSES 10:00 a.m. CDT SEPTEMBER 15, 2020    

 

The October 5-6 Remote Test is a live-proctored examination for Illinois admission.  Examinees may take the Remote Test at home, law school, library, or any private and quiet location where they are uninterrupted. Remote Test users must be alone in the room and will require an internal webcam (for laptops), an external webcam (for desktops), microphone, stable and secure WiFi, meet computer system requirements and other requirements. Applicants will be required to show a valid government issued ID to his or her proctor via the webcam to verify identity and compare the photo previously submitted to IBAB. You may not have a second monitor. You may not have a cell phone, any papers, notes, writing implements of any kind, or food or beverage in your vicinity.  Your workspace may have a laptop or desktop, external webcam if desktop, and a mouse, and that is it. 

 

The Illinois Board of Admissions to the Bar (IBAB) contracts with ILG Technologies for the use of ILG Technologies’ ILG Exam360® technology, which allows Illinois bar applicants to use laptop computers for the remote examination.   

October 2020 examinees may register for the laptop program for a nonrefundable registration fee of $105 (you are not required to pay this fee again if you already paid it during the initial registration period). The registration fee covers the software license, technical support prior to the exam and supervision, and administrative costs. All communications regarding ILG Exam360® will be sent by email only (noreply@illinois.ilgexam360.com):  It is the applicant’s responsibility to maintain a valid email address at all times and to keep the Board apprised of any change.  Please add noreply@illinois.ilgexam360.com to your contacts and safe senders list to ensure receipt of all ILG Exam360®  related email communications.

Applicants who, during the July 8-23 registration session already registered, downloaded and installed ILG Exam360® software for computer based testing will be required to download and install an update for the software which will be available during the new ILG Exam360® open registration period between Tuesday, September 1 and Tuesday, September 15.

 

Whether or not you have already registered and downloaded ILG Exam360® software, everyone will be required to download and install new software between September 1 - 15.  No later than September 15, the three steps of registering your computer, installing the downloaded software, and upload the Trial Exam must be completed or you will not be permitted to take the remote test. NO EXCEPTIONS.
