Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission

Minimum Continuing Legal Education ("MCLE") Requirement

Every attorney admitted to the Illinois Bar after December 31, 2005 must complete a Basic Skills Course within one year of admission. Each Basic Skills Course must be accredited by the MCLE Board of the Supreme Court of Illinois and include at least 15 hours of instruction in certain topics. Certain exemptions are available. Approved courses are listed on the MCLE Board's web site at http://www.mcleboard.org/Basic%20Skills.html.
